Compassion Capital Fund was administered by SteppsUp in 2009 and 2010

SteppsUpThe Compassion Capital Fund project was administered through a grant made to the Greater Minneapolis Council of Churches (GMCC) from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.  The GMCC was the intermediary organization that worked with SteppsUp as the local partner to administer the grant and implement the training program.   Compassion Capital Fund awards provided capacity-building training and financial assistance to faith-based and community-based organizations that deliver critical social services to the community. The purpose of the funding was to build the capacity of an organization or collaboration in the following key areas:

  • Leadership Development
  • Organizational infrastructure
  • Program Design
  • Financial Sustainability
  • Community Engagement

During the two years that we had the CCF Program, $90,000 in capacity-building awards were granted to 17 area agencies.

The Compassion Capital Fund Program ended in September of 2010.  Currently there is not a federal grant program in its place.
